Session Amber Ale Recipe

in Brewing Recipes

I mentioned awhile back that this recipe was formulated by accident – but it turned out pretty tasty anyway.  This is also the unofficial start to a summer project inspired by some of the session beer talk that’s been going around lately.  So stay tuned for a whole series of (hopefully!) interesting homebrew recipes centered around a theme of low gravity but big flavor.

This recipe originally appeared in Brewing Classic Styles (which you should own if you don’t) .

I modified the hops slightly to match what I had on hand.  This recipe is a good candidate for experimenting with new hop varieties if you’d like to try.

The starting gravity is lower than the original (read the first link above to find out why).
